Frequently Asked Questions from TANO CABLE

Faq
FAQ
Q
How to test the compliance of the cable?
A
Normally, cables are tested for compliance against parameters which have been designed to determine their particular suitability. Based on the applicable standards, work out a corresponding test schedule. These tests include electrical tests, mechanical tests and chemical tests.

Among them, absence of faults, voltage testing and overall dimension tests was described as non-destructive tests which was operated during production process, and tensile strength and elongation testing, vertical flame testing, acid gas emission tests, and impact tests at cold temperature was called as invasive destructive testing on samples.

Also various ageing tests to simulate how the cables are likely to perform over time, such as air ageing, compatibility testing, continuous flexing tests and UV stability tests.

In short, TANO CABLE has a strong QA and QC team, and complete experimental work instructions to ensure that the products provided are 100% tested and 100% qualified.
Q
What size cable do i need?
A
As an integrated cable and wire solution provider, TANO CABLE will offer customers a detailed guide for your cable selection needs based on rich experience. However, before this, we need customers present the unique application circumstances.
Q
What are the respective benefits of using copper vs aluminium conductors
A
Let's talk about the advantages of both based on production and construction experience.

1. The advantages of aluminum core cables over copper core cables:

1) Low price: Copper pole is several times the price of aluminum pole, so aluminum core cable is much cheaper than copper core cable, economical and practical.

2) The cable is very light: the weight of the aluminum core cable is 40% of that of the copper core cable. The production material cost is greatly reduced. In terms of construction, the aluminum wire is light in weight, and the construction is convenient to save labor. Aluminum quickly reacts with oxygen in the air to form an oxide film, which can prevent further oxidation. Therefore, aluminum wire is a necessary material for high-voltage, large-section, and large-span overhead power transmission.
2. The advantages of copper core cables over aluminum core cables

1) Low resistivity: The resistivity of aluminum core cables is about 1.68 times higher than that of copper core cables.

2) Good ductility: the ductility of copper is 20-40%, the ductility of electrical copper is more than 30%, while aluminum is only 18%.

3) high strength: the allowable stress at room temperature, copper is 7~28% higher than aluminum. Especially the stress at high temperature, the difference between the two is even greater.

4) Anti-fatigue: Aluminum is easy to break after repeated bending, while copper is not easy. In terms of elasticity index, copper is also about 1.7 to 1.8 times higher than aluminum.

5) Good stability and corrosion resistance: The copper core is resistant to oxidation and corrosion, while the aluminum core is susceptible to oxidation and corrosion.

6) Large current carrying capacity: Due to the low resistivity, the copper core cable with the same cross-section is about 30% higher than the allowable current carrying capacity (the larger current that can pass) of the aluminum core cable.

7) Low voltage loss: Due to the low resistivity of the copper core cable, the same current flows in the same section. The voltage drop of the copper core cable is small. Therefore, the same transmission distance can ensure higher voltage quality; in other words, under the allowable voltage drop condition, the copper core cable can reach a longer distance, that is, the power supply coverage area is large, which is beneficial to network planning and reduces The number of power supply points.

8) Low heating temperature: Under the same current, the copper core cable with the same cross-section has much smaller heating value than the aluminum core cable, which makes the operation safer.

9) Low energy consumption: Because of the low electrical resistivity of copper, it is obvious that copper cables have low power loss compared to aluminum cables. This is conducive to improving the utilization rate of power generation and protecting the environment.

10) Anti-oxidation and corrosion resistance: The performance of the connector of the copper core cable is stable, and there will be no accidents due to oxidation. When the connector of aluminum core cable is unstable, the contact resistance will increase due to oxidation and heat will cause accidents. Therefore, the accident rate is much greater than that of copper core cables.

Through our comparison, we can draw a conclusion that the advantages of copper core cables are far more than aluminum core cables. Simply put, aluminum core cables are not only cheap but convenient to handle. In terms of economic investment, aluminum core cables are the better choice. However, for long-term practicality, copper core cables are the better choice.
Q
What is insulation material of welding cable?
A
Welding cable usually comes with rubber insulation, typically either Neoprene or Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) rubber, and is designed to be fire (small sparks), water, oil, and abrasion resistant.
Q
How to assure the quality of your cable productions?
A
1. Most of our products  are certified.
2. Our Lab staff will test the material and check the process card before production.
3. The O.D tester is testing all the time during production, and the production line is always under control.
4. The product will be tested by Lab staff after finishing production.
Q
What are applications of flexible cable?
A
Flexible Cable applications are to withstand the extreme stress of flexing and motion. A few applications include: drag chain applications, applications with repetitive bending and torsion stress, machine tools, data processing equipment, robotics, assembly lines, automation networking, microprocessor and computer interconnects and many more.
