DESCRIPTION
RS485 cables are widely used in industrial automation for connecting multiple devices like sensors, controllers, and meters in a network. Their ability to transmit data over long distances (up to 1200 meters) and resist electrical interference makes them ideal for harsh industrial environments, enabling reliable communication in systems such as factory machinery monitoring or building automation.
APPLICATION
The RS485 cable typically consists of two twisted pairs of wires as the core: one pair for differential data transmission (A and B lines) to reduce noise, and often another pair for power supply. It is usually shielded with a metal layer (like aluminum foil or braid) to further resist electromagnetic interference, and covered with an outer insulating jacket for protection.
