Differences and typical applications of THHN, THWN and THHW Wires
Share:
THHN, THWN and THHW are 600V UL83 building wires widely used in residential, commercial and industrial electrical systems. All use thermoplastic insulation but differ in structure, temperature rating and environmental suitability.
THHN: PVC insulation plus nylon jacket, high mechanical and abrasion resistance. 90°C rating for dry locations only. Used for indoor conduit wiring, branch circuits and dry industrial power distribution.
THWN: Same PVC plus nylon double structure. Rated 90°C dry /75°C wet. Good water and moisture resistance for damp rooms, basements and protected outdoor conduits.
THHW: Single PVC insulation, no nylon sheath. 90°C dry /75°C wet. Cost effective and stable for general home wiring, commercial lighting and standard building power systems.
TANO CABLE provides full range UL certified THHN, THWN and THHW wires with reliable quality and complete specifications to satisfy global construction and electrical projects.
